Where Shadows Lie

This (and probably several of the next sketches I do) was inspired by The Lord of the Rings Sketchbook that I got recently. Love that book.

Fast Portrait

If you were in an Asian restaurant in Pewaukee for lunch today and this looks like you-then it probably is!P.S. As you might have realized from what's written above, I was creepily sketching you without your knowledge...

Road Trip Sketches: Hands, Trees, Trucks, Mirrors

I was in Minneapolis this weekend, but the drive there and back is hella long, and even though some of the roads were really bumpy, the sketching process prevailed! Someday, I promise, I'll have color on this page again...

Octopus Girl

Hey guys, I have another new illustration for the book. I'm not sure if I'm leaving this one as is, I might get more detailed with a design on the octopus. There will be another one with cats coming soon!

Fish Girl

Hey hey. Not too long ago I was talking about a book that Studio Sunday and I will be publishing to sell at a APE (Alternative Press Expo), this is the first illustration I've done that will be included in the book. My plan is to do more on the same concept, but with me (and my decisive prowess) you never know.

The symbol in the first one means 'Butterfly' at least according to a few sources on the web (so . . .)

Well I promised color and here it is, I stumbled on these two paintings I made in college in my spare time (I had spare time? Don't remember that). The other thing is a t-shirt design I did for the software engineering group at MSOE. I guess they do a t-shirt every year or something. I think that I'm going to tweak it a little and add it as my first design to threadless.

I'm brainstorming trying to come up with an awesome idea for a bunch of illustrations (and maybe a story too) that I can turn into a book. We shall see where it leads.

I've decided that the next post I make is going to have to have some color in it. But in the meantime - New tattoo design, for anyone who likes birds (I hear swans are vicious, which might be why I like them).

Window Study

Yay I've been added to Studio Sunday's crew! www.studiosunday.org

I drew this awhile ago with those involved there (and some other people). I was planning on doing a window study series, but so far I only have two. . . and right now only one that I have transfered into the digital world.

I'm so far beyond designing tattoos for myself anymore, now it's just fun to design them at all. So here are some more.

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

I've been wanting to get a new tattoo for awhile now, but I have only a vague idea what I want to get, so I've been playing the past couple of days with a few designs . . . I'm only going to put up three of them this time. I'm digging the third one, but I'm definitely not settled on it.

I've been working a lot at IMCO Technologies doing their marketing campaign for RSNA, I want to put that stuff up here but I think I should wait until it's been released to the public, which will be very soon after Thanksgiving. It's very different from what I normally do, mostly because someone else is the one making the rules...

They offered me a full time job!! Sweet! I will have health insurance again, and I might be able to *think about getting a car. If anyone has any ideas for a type of car-I'm all ears, all I know is I want it to be small and probably 2 door. I need to spoof up my wardrobe a bit first though, I never realized I only ever wear jeans until it was inappropriate to ever wear jeans.

And I almost forgot the most important news of all - dun dun - OBAMA!! That's right. #2 in the line of presidents that I've been able to vote for, #1 in the line of presidents I've voted for that have actually won. I think it's really important that we keep the excitement that Obama's campaign has created. Americans need a reason to be proud of America. We have been kinda lacking in reasons for patriotism lately, and a person can only 'hope' that Obama can keep it up. I don't know about everybody else but I'm excited to see what we can do...

I guess I'll leave it there for today. Have a good weekend everybody, try to stay warm!
